Homeowners almost always ask the same question first: how long will my house be a construction site? The short answer is 1–3 days for most jobs — but the full project timeline runs longer.

Quick Answer

A typical 2,000–2,500 sq ft asphalt-shingle roof takes 1–2 days of on-site work. Concrete tile runs 3–5 days. Clay tile or steep/cut-up roofs can stretch to a full week.

Most homeowners are surprised — the actual roofing is faster than the paperwork around it.

Full Project Timeline

  • Day 0: Free inspection & written estimate
  • Week 1–2: Permit pulled, materials ordered
  • Day of install: Tear-off, decking inspection, underlayment, shingle/tile install, cleanup
  • Day +1: Magnetic nail sweep, final walkthrough
  • Week +1: GAF inspection (for Golden Pledge® warranty)

What Slows It Down

  • Rotted decking discovered mid-tear-off
  • Monsoon weather (we will not roof in active rain)
  • Steep pitch or multiple roof faces
  • HOA color approval delays

We schedule around weather windows so your home is never left exposed overnight.
